Inspired by the deck of cards, a tool of infinite permutations used to play games, create stories, and see the future, our card deck re-imagines the Jacks, Queens, and Kings as mythical creatures from around the world.

This project explores the limitations of "folklore"as a genre and challenges the imperialist dichotomy between a mythical past vs.a modern present. Storytelling (folklore included) can be understood as a continuous process used to both create and perceive reality. Read the full zine here
